History and activities of the club
VETERAN CAR CLUB ÈESKÉ BUDÌJOVICE is one of the biggest and oldest clubs of friends historical vehicles in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1963, but the founder's group began their activities in 1958. The Club has 183 members, who are owners of old vehicles or are interested in old cars, motorcycles, bikes and military vehicles. The members of the Club have more then 800 vehicles, among their cars you can find all types of Aero and Tatra passanger cars, motorcycles JAWA, ÈZ, Praga, and also the complete collection of cars with front wheel drive with two period's engines, and many other types of sports and racing motorcycles. In the Club there are representatives of all world leading producers.
The most interesting cars are the oldest mobile Bugatti in the world - Bugatti 13 from 1911; then Bugatti cars - types 37 A and 38 C, Laurin & Klement DN-6 from 1912, BMW 328. Interesting enough are the motorcycles with strap's drives, the longest motorcycle in the world - Bõhmerland, and many types of motorcycles Indian, Harley-Davidson, Rudge, BSA, Ariel, Horex, DKW, and others.
Every year at the beginning of May the Club organizes the international oldtimer rallye "Krivonoska" for vehicles which were made up to year 1945. Every year there are more 250 classic cars and motorcycles.
Calendar of interesting club's events:
- January - on the New Year's Day at 1 o'clock in the afternoon - The Ice race (only for motorcycles),
- April - The First Circle - meeting and testing historical vehicles,
- September - the Last Circle - The Pepa Kovar's memorial - a farewell to the season.
